ABOUT THE PROJECT

Meadow Springs Renewable Energy is a 150-megawatt (MW) solar generation and storage project being developed by Vesper Energy. The project will consist of solar panels and energy storage installed on approximately 2,000 acres of privately-owned land in White County.

This project will generate enough clean, renewable energy to power more than 15,000 Illinois homes. The project will benefit the local, regional, and state economies through short- and long-term employment opportunities as well as by creating a new, reliable long-term source of tax revenue for White County.

Meadow Springs Renewable Energy will help Illinois meet the Energy Transition Act, a comprehensive law designed to move the state to 100% clean energy by 2050. With this push to transition to renewable energy, it’s estimated that this transition would create more than 2,200 full-time equivalent jobs, generate over $180 million in earnings for workers and add over $300 million to the state’s economic output from 2022 to 2025, all in downstate Illinois communities. Meadow Springs Renewable Energy will be an active part of making this transition possible.
